"Tsk! You are talking as if I was fated to die there." Though Alex said that in a mocking tone, Nora noticed how his eyes wandered around. As if he was trying to hide his uneasiness. Nora snorted. She did not give him face at all as she held her top and pulled it up.
"And this wound? Why did his men attack me when I came to meet you?" her voice had a cold rage that made Alex frown. He looked at her in bewilderment. "Amayra had made up the story that ruffians attacked you and I saved you.
But me telling you part of her story is the truth. That night.." Nora repeated what happened that night in detail. Except the part where she had called Alric. She left it vaguely as to how Alric reached there with his force.

"Save it, Alex! The man had been paid to hurt you. I heard him talking to someone over the phone to give you those dosages. He had tapped you for a long time." his eyes flickered a bit and he looked away again. "But here you are, acting pathetic and running away from your mistakes. And here I thought that you are a strong man who would shoulder his mistakes." her voice was mocking that irked him.
He gritted his teeth and narrowed his eyes.
"What do you know! You have no idea that.."
"That your brother took your place in your own house? That just an illegitimate bastard was cherished by both your parents and you can not handle the abandonment?" she raised a brow. "But when I saw your mother crying these past days, I did not see abandonment in them, Alex. All I saw was love. If there was a fee to transfer your pain to her, she would have done it with a smile on her face." Nora took a deep breath, controlling her own rage.
