Chapter 84: A Task For You
"You should try this recipe too." As Mrs Jhonson pointed out, a maid came forward and placed the meat on Nora’s plate. "Good meat will help you in improving your health." she offered a smile.
"Mother, you have forgotten about me completely. This is the fifth time that you have served her while I did not get a single chance." Nora blinked, looking stunned. She could not believe that the voice came from a cold and aloof man like Victor.
But Mrs Jhonson did not seem to mind. It looked like the scene occurs often.
"You child! When will you grow up?" she sighed but her eyes were filled with love and warmth as she placed a ladle of soup in her bowl without waiting for the maids.
Nora’s hands paused as she stared at both of them. But her eyes stealthily moved to Mr Jhonson too. Was he this silent or he was brooding?
But the sweet chatter of mother and son made the place warm till the end.
"Victor will show you your room. If you need anything, you can tell her." Mrs Johnson looked meaningfully at her son before wrapping her arms around her husband and leaving.
"You must not tell anyone about my house in the school." he warned her with a sigh. "My mother loves to ruin my image." His voice was beaming. Who would believe that he was hurt about it?
"Mmm." Victor stopped and looked at her lost face. They were already standing in front of her door.
