Olivia stared at Eritrea in disbelief. She could not believe that she had brought this onto herself. But if she had refused the request, she would have ended up dead.
"The monster is in my sea of consciousness. Others cannot sense it," she tried to reason.
"The scent of the frost fox is very distinct. Any elite and high-level monsters can easily detect it." Eritrea turned her attention back to the baby monster. "But don’t worry, I have already covered its trace before you came," she added nonchalantly.
"Thank you," Olivia said, her voice conveying how sincere she was.
"Do you know if I leveled up or not?" She asked hesitantly.
Eritrea tilted her head towards her. "Of course, you have leveled up, but your powers will gradually deplete unless you consume more cores. Think of the king frost fox mother. If she wasn’t sharing her essence with her baby, who is very gluttonous, sucking almost all of her essence, you guys would have never been able to kill her."
"So does this make me the mother, doing the duty of its mother?" Olivia asked in disbelief.
"Yes," came the cold answer that made her wish for the ground to open up and swallow her.
She knew it. This was too good to be true. When had anything good ever happened to her?
