Apocalyse: Marked by Chaos

Chapter 116 - 115 Burdens We All Bear

’Was she talking about the same fight that Dimitri has told me about?’ Lucian stared at Olivia for a moment too long.

"Get out of my way, I have to finish this... I have a feeling she would be a pain in the ass if I let her live," he muttered the last part under his lips.

Olivia glanced at Diana who was sitting on the ground behind her. "Lucian," her voice lowered. "I know I shouldn’t have talked to you in that manner... but can you please understand that this is a hard time for me?"

"Diana is my friend, and you know that too," she added with gritted teeth. Her eyes flickered to the far distance, the graveyard. All she wanted was to see her best friend again, but why was this happening?

"I can see you planned this with her," Lucian said, his gaze deadlier than the sharpest dagger.

For a second, even he was confused by his own attitude. He should have already killed both of them, but why was he holding back?

Olivia closed her eyes in frustration. The trouble was getting too much. Why was it always difficult for her to get something she really needed?

"Your friend tried to plunge a knife through my heart," his gaze darkened. He moved, walking closer to her. His voice held a malicious and amused tone. His frame towered over hers, making Olivia crane her head up towards him.

Strangely, every step he took felt like a ticking time bomb to her, and surprisingly, it made her knees shake a little. She had never felt this way in his presence before... except during the essence transfer and when he fought with Klaus.
