Helena looked at him. He did not know when she came there and how much she had heard.
He froze, not knowing what to say.
He then saw that a few drops of tears slowly started to flow down her face and was stunned.
What else was there to say? He understood that she had heard what had happened earlier.
"Helena," He softly called her name.
The aggressiveness and anger in his voice from earlier had completely vanished.
Helena sniffled softly. She looked at him and ran towards him before hugging him tightly. "Babe, I didn’t do anything like that. I never did anything against Sister Jemma. I am telling you the truth. Please believe me. I would never do anything against Sister Jemma. How could I? She is like my sister."
Vernon hugged her back tightly. He kissed the crown of her head, "Hey. Babe. Why are you crying? Also, why are you explaining yourself? Do you even have to? Did I ask you anything? Did anyone tell you to explain? Why are you? Why would I trust that idiot and doubt you?
"Shh. Don’t cry. Stop crying. If you cried because of me, then that’s a different matter. But why are you crying because of another man? I will feel jealous if you do this."
He gently wiped the tears away from her cheeks and kissed both her eyes.
He then kissed her cheeks to clean her tears.
