My Cold-Hearted Husband Wants Me Back

Chapter 200: The Reason That Break Them Apart

Eryx’s eyes caught a flash of a kid rushing out of the restaurant. His body tensed, already halfway out of his seat, ready to dash after him.

But Lunara grabbed his arm.

"No," she said firmly.

Her hand was steady despite the faint tremble in her fingers. She reached up, fixing his sunglasses back onto his face and tugging his cap lower to shield him from attention. Then she laced her fingers through his and gave his hand a gentle squeeze.

"Let’s go back home."

Eryx looked down at her and at the dark stain on her shoulder, the faint scent of sulfur still clinging to her clothes, and the way she held herself together like she wasn’t one breath away from breaking.

His jaw clenched.

He didn’t say anything. Just nodded once.

They walked out of the restaurant, all eyes tracking them, but not a single word was exchanged. Whatever needed to be said would happen later, somewhere safe.

But the moment they stepped outside, they stopped cold.

A man leaned casually against a black car, one hand in his pocket, the other gripping a boy by the collar. The kid looked terrified, his shoes scuffed like he’d been running.
