Chapter 183: Together
"Eryx, stop."
Regina’s voice rang out as he reached for the car door. He paused, exhaling quietly through his nose, his back still turned to her.
"You can’t drive," she continued, stepping closer. Then, with a sidelong glance at Lunara, she added, "And Ara can’t either. Ride with us. Leave the car here. And stop staying at that hotel."
Lunara turned sharply to Regina, her brows knitting. "Wait... you knew he was staying at a hotel this whole time?"
Her voice was calm, but her eyes blinked quickly, betraying how thrown off she was. Confused. A little hurt, even.
"I—I just thought Eryx needed some time to clear his head—"
"And you were okay watching me run around looking for him like crazy?" Lunara snapped, her voice sharp with disbelief. She looked utterly baffled, eyes wide. "You knew where he was this whole time and didn’t say a word?"
"I’m sorry, I really didn’t..." Regina’s voice trailed off. She paused, her lips parting slightly as if to offer an excuse—but none came. For once, no justification, no defense. Just silence, and the dawning realization of her own mistake settling in her expression.
Lunara scoffed softly, shaking her head. "Of course you didn’t."
