My Cold-Hearted Husband Wants Me Back

Chapter 169: A Week Worth Of Sweet Romance

Lunara was flushed, giggling, and standing barefoot in front of the bathroom with one sleeve halfway off her shoulder when Eryx yanked the door open.

"Hot," she said, breathy and dramatic, tugging at her blouse. "Why’s it so hot in here?" She turned slowly, as if trying to solve the mystery herself.

He stared at her for a long second. "Lunara... hey, look at me. Are you sure you only drank wine earlier?"

She blinked up at him with wide, glassy eyes—the kind of innocent only someone clearly not sober could pull off. "Hmm? Half. Half the bottle." She held up her fingers to demonstrate, squinting to get it right.

Eryx muttered a curse under his breath and quickly reached for her hand, guiding her away. She stumbled, laughing softly, and squinted at the ceiling like it had started to spin. He eased her onto the couch, grabbed a blanket, and carefully draped it over her shoulders.

"This isn’t just wine," he said under his breath, crouching in front of her. "Lunara, did you... take anything earlier today?"

She furrowed her brows, thinking hard. "My head hurts... I think? Maybe I took something? Just a little pill. The white one. You know, the tiny one."

His jaw clenched. He didn’t wait.

Pulling out his phone, he scrolled through his contacts and pressed a familiar number. "Yeah, it’s me," he said when the doctor answered. "Same hotel. I don’t know what medication she took, but she drank half a bottle of wine after that. Yes... please come. Right now."

When he hung up, Lunara was lying on the couch with one arm flopped dramatically over her forehead like an old movie heroine.

"Why’re you so pretty when you’re mad?" she slurred, blinking up at him.
