My Cold-Hearted Husband Wants Me Back

Chapter 110: A Moment Of Weakness

Eryx stood frozen for a beat, water still dripping from his hair. He had just opened the bathroom door, a towel slung low on his hips, steam curling around him like a silent veil. And there Lunara was, standing barefoot in front of the bathroom’s door, her eyes slightly puffy, her expression seemed confused.

"Did you just come back?" she asked quietly. "Did Mila already fall asleep?"

The question hit him like a punch.

Eryx’s hand tightened slightly on the towel at his waist.

Her voice hadn’t cracked, but her eyes, those wide, disoriented eyes were searching his face for an answer that didn’t exist.

He stepped closer, slowly, carefully. "Lunara..."

Eryx stepped forward, closing the gap between them. His voice dropped, gentle and warm. "Hey..." He reached out and softly rubbed her cheek. "Listen... I know you still can’t accept this. But, darling... Mila... She’s already gone to heaven. If you keep grieving like this, it’s going to wear you down."

Lunara’s eyes blinked slowly, dazed. She looked up at him as if trying to process his words, as if waking up from a dream she didn’t want to end.

Her lips trembled. "I really wish she was just asleep."

Eryx’s throat tightened. He gently pulled her into his bare chest, arms wrapping around her carefully. His skin was still damp from the shower, warm against the chill that clung to her like fog.

"I know," he murmured into her hair. "I wish she was too."
