Mr Bodyguard, Protect Your Heart!

[Should I come get you guys and let’s go back home?] Dante messaged back.

Dove checked the time, as it was getting quite late. She raised her head, but just as she did that, Dove almost got a mini heart attack when she saw Lisa’s face mere two inches away from hers.

She was ogling at what conversation was going on between Dante and her.

And in Lisa’s defense she was keeping an eye on what that playboy of a man was saying to her friend whom she had to protect from any further heart break!

Lisa’s eyes squinted together as she looked at the last few messages from Dante to her friend?

Hah! Such a sweet talker of a jerk that man was!?! No wonder her pure and innocent little friend had her heart racing from him.

Lisa wouldn’t lie but even her heart skips beats if someone talked to her like that. Now if this was what normally Dove received, she couldn’t blame her friend one bit!

And after all this, her intention of finding Dove a good man who would actually love and cherish her increased! She would absolutely do that, and won’t stop untill she found one.

Meanwhile, Dove replied with, [Yes, if you are done too.] She did not want to look imposing, when she herself had quite a fair idea how tough it would be managing that level of business, no matter how easy Dante made it sound like.

After sometime,

Dove, Dante and Lisa waited in the parking, when they saw Dante’s group, come out of the hotel, and walk towards the parking. Another man walked side by side with Dante, whom Dove deduced to be the one, with whom he came to meet.

As they came to stand at a close distance, a car pulled up in front of them, that was for the man with Dante. He talked something admist laughing. And when his eyes fell on Dove, he smiled at her wisely, before he stepped up to her and extended his hand for a shake. "Nice to meet you, Mrs Lancaster. I just came up to know that Mrs Lancaster is an excellent businesswoman herself. And is the CEO of Sterling Corporation. Haha. Though, our businesses is not in the same industry, I would hope we could do one together someday."

Meanwhile, Dove, "..."

Lisa, "...."

Gavi, "...." Woah! That was fast. But Gavi had reservations and did not very much appreciate on his mother being called someone’s wife, without the ring on her finger.

And Dante? Well, he was feeling all giddy, and was flying high in the sky! While also sneakily looked at her reaction. Oh how did he crave for this moment. The world calling her his!

Dove on the other side had frozen in stunt shock. Because how could she not?! Wife? That was an entirely foreign term for her. And any natural reaction would have been for her to instantly deny it. And call out the misunderstanding.

But to her complete unexpectation, correcting the man and clearing the misunderstanding was a far say, she couldn’t even utter a word.

As if her mind did not process it all completely.

And out of her years of practice and consciousness, she extended back her hand for a shake, while her mouth and brain still couldn’t process anything.

The man shook her hand happily, saying, "It’s very nice to meet you, Mrs Lancaster. If you would please, then I would look forward to us all having dinner some other day. What do you say, Mr Lancaster?" Dante smiled replying, "Sure." Just then, the man’s phone rand, and on seeing the caller ID, a subtle sense of urgency flashed on his face, and then he turned towards Dante and said, "See you again, Mr Lancaster. Hoping for the best with our cooperation. Dante gave a nod, before he stepped into the car, and then the car sped away.

After the car left, everyone who were left could feel the stunned silence around them. Calix tuned around and he signaled the bodyguards to disperse. Dante cleared his throat as he turned towards the ones who were clearly looking at him with eyes full of judgement. "Cough*, actually, Mr Sean got it wrong, and I did not find enough time to correct it. I hope, it did not cause you much trouble, did it, Dove?" And saying that he met Dove’s eyes with those dark and profound eyes of his. Dove’s ears instantly turned red, and she bit her own tongue to stopped herself from getting anymore flustered. "No, no. It’s a small misunderstanding, not a big matter at all."

And while the two were having sparks of chemistry flying around them, with one clearly flustered while the other one looking with profound gaze, the other two people, Lisa and Gavi were vey heavily judging them. Because how could they not?! And what was this rubbish excuse that he did not find anytime to correct that man? Clearly there was time more than enough to correct him ten times over! And Dove? She was also not spared from the laws of judgement. Lisa scoffed on looking at how easily Dove folded after listening to that pathetic excuse given by that time?! Even after her hours of teaching! At this moment, she was having a hard time believing that this woman in front of her was the same person who has a genius business mind. It seems like she still did not have the clear idea on how deep Dove had fallen.

Lisa then stepped forward and elbowed her lightly so that she stops being such a love stuck fool! Dove on getting hit looked at her friend’s dead eyes, and the redness of her blush instantly disappeared. Oh right.

"Let’s go then? It’s getting late, isn’t it? Gavi has his school tomorrow too." And Dante stepped forward, and carried Gavi his in arms to the car, as if it was the most natural thing to do. Dove pursed her lips and she bid Lisa bye, quickly hugging her, and then the car sped away.
