Chapter 119: FOUND A PLACE IN THEIR SPACES
Yes, Grace. I need you to handle that tomorrow," Dove instructed, her tone firm yet composed. "It’s alright if there are some setbacks—I can take those. The industry needs to understand that Sterling Corporation is not to be messed with, nor is its CEO. I want all ties with Davis Enterprises severed immediately. Also, withdraw everything related to the upcoming project that was supposed to be a collaboration between our companies."
After giving Grace the necessary instructions, Dove ended the call and exhaled softly. She stepped onto the balcony, letting the cool night breeze caress her skin and play with her hair.
There was something inexplicably soothing about the wind—it had a way of comforting the soul, of whispering silent reassurances.
As she gazed into the tranquil darkness, a smirk played on her lips.
"Aunty Cara, I told you that you would regret this to the brink," she murmured. "Dove never lets anyone who has wronged her go without teaching them a lesson."
Forgiveness, she believed, only held value if both parties desired it and were willing to move on. But if someone deliberately clung to their grudges and sought to pull her down, then there was no reason for her not to be just as ruthless.
With that thought lingering in her mind, she turned, glancing at the elegant wall clock before stepping back inside. It was almost Gavi’s bedtime.
As she made her way to his room, she found it empty. Then, she recalled the request her little boy had made earlier—he had asked to visit his grandmother.
"He must still be in Grandma’s room," she murmured with a small smile before heading toward Freya’s quarters.
Upon reaching the room, she noticed the door was slightly ajar. Peeking inside, her eyes landed on her son, seated on the couch, swinging his small legs that didn’t quite reach the floor. Across from him, Freya sat, listening intently as Gavi animatedly spoke, his tiny hands moving expressively.
The little boy was eagerly recounting the events of his first day at school—how much fun he had, his favorite lunch, and every random thought that crossed his mind.
