Chapter 86: DID THAT SCARE YOU?
"You are welcome, Miss Dove. In fact, it was my duty." Dante replied with a smile on his face. Dove and him stared at one another for a while, before Dove chuckled and shook her head lightly, and said, "You know what, Mr Lancaster. All those good things that Grandpa would tell about you sometimes to us, I used to feel that he is overexaggerating it to me. But now, I feel like you do deserve those praises."
Dante felt his cheeks going red, and he lowered his head and cleared his throat by couching and said, "Miss Dove, you are too kind with your words." Dove laughed shaking her head and said, "No! I really mean it." They both shared a mutual laugh and then Dove said, "Alright, so I will start with my work. Mr Lancaster, since I am in my office here only, you too can do your work, if you feel bored. There is an extra computer, just in case." Dove showed him an extra laptop that was kept on the table at the side.
After all, though he was being only a bodyguard of her in front of the world, but Dove knew who he really was. He had far more important things to do other than looking after her safety that wasn’t even apparently on the line. He had a huge conglomerate to run after all. So, instead of being bored he could just do his own work or whatever he wished to.
Dante looked at the woman in front of his heart in appreciation. She exactly knew what was needed at the point.
The next forty or so minutes went by in peace with Dove doing her work, Dante checking on some digital files and documents that he had asked calix to send him over. Senior Sterling resting and Little Gavriel accompanying him.
After a while, Butler joe arrived too. And Dante and Dove helped them. Meanwhile, Gavi sat quietly in the lounge after Senior Sterling left. When Dove and Dante came back to the office, Dove blinked her eyes wondering if Gavi had fallen asleep. "Let me check on, Gavi." Dove murmured and Dante just nodded a little. But just then Gavi walked out of the room. He was quite as he walked to Dove and hugged her quietly resting her head on her lower stomach.
"Baby, what’s wrong? Are you hungry? Or sleepy?" Dove asked gently as he caressed his head. Gavi who was quite blinked his eyes a couple of times, before he looked up to his mother, and rubbed his stomach slightly, "Um, I am feeling like eating something."
Dove smiled at him, as she poked his nose, and said, "There is still time for lunch. Why don’t you eat some snacks that are in your bag." Gavriel blinked his eyes before nodding his head and said, "Um, I forgot about the snacks!" and he rushed to go to fetch his bag. Dove simply smiled at her son, before she strode to her desk resuming her work. Meanwhile Dante looked at the direction his son went, with a small frown on his face.
