Chapter 56: BUTTERING AND POLISHING
While these two, Senior Sterling looked at them, and only looking at them increased his blood pressure. During that time, when his family, him, Dove and the rest of them were grieving of his son’s loss, and were going through a thought time. They had their own crazy and greedy ideas in their heads. Despite being families, and standing beside them, and helping them in their hard times, they were mad over the idea that how did Dove become the heir of the family business. And why had his son given all of his shares to his only daughter.
It was because according to them, they deserved to get the position that Simon’s son had. The place that he had worked so hard for the last twenty two years to bring the company to that heights. And even if that was the case, Senior Sterling would never allow that to happen. He wouldn’t just allow his son’s hard work to just go to anyone. And that was the reason that he had started to train Dove, even before she graduated from her high school.
While, this two, despite knowing everything, instead of helping him at that difficult times, they instead were busy creating troubles for him. Troubles, in such ways, that it would do irreversible damage to the company if he hadn’t handled it in right ways.
And it wasn’t once, but many little times. They wanted to prove to the board of directors and the shareholders that Senior Sterling wasn’t fit anymore to hold that position.
And after all this, if Senior Sterling wanted he would very easily bring them under trouble. Yet, on the grounds of them bring family, he let it slide. Just because he did not wanted to splash the dirty water on the family in front of everyone. But internally, he had long lost any respect or regards that he had for this branch of family. They just annoy him now. And Senior Sterling don’t even bother to hide it any longer.
Jacob and Noren also looked at Senior Sterling with a frown.
Even they were confused on how blatantly Senior Sterling was showing his dislike towards their family. Jacob and Noren were very well aware from the start that Senior Sterling did not really like them very much, but this was the first time he was showing it like this. Is age and sickness getting on his head now? They wondered.
Yet, they decided to keep the ’deceny’ among everyone present there. Since the old man seems to have forgotten about it. That adopted boy, who was snickering about. And the butler, who they knew that though he was carrying a poker face, must be laughing in his head.
Jacob huffed lightly before, he looked at Senior Sterling and said, "Senior Sterling, I now you must have carried some misunderstanding about us in your head, making you so salty about me and my family. Maybe, by some means, me or my family must have done something that must have deeply hurt you. And I, today, apologise for it from the very deep corner of my heart. But I guess, now as a family, we must not keep this saltiness and bitterness among families any longer, isn’t it?"
