Chapter 40: PREGNANT
Meanwhile, in the Sterling residence, Dove sat in the room, with a big frown on her face, in front of the mirror. She had just woken up a while ago, feeling so nauseous. And the next moment she had to rush in the bathroom to throw up. She sighed looking at her reflection. "I don’t know what’s the matter, but I am suddenly not feeling well for a few days now." She murmured. Then her frown deepened a little more, and she murmured, "Is it because of my periods?" She murmured, checking her period tracker, to find out that her period date had been long due. And she had not received it yet!
From the last few days, Dove had been trying to distract herself. And she was even successful in it. She wanted to get involved with the company even before she started her university. And therefore, shew as concentrating in one particular project of the company along with her grandfather. After all, she could see that her grandfather was quite agedly. And She she did not know how long he could exert himself and his energy to keep up the company. Her grandfather was already planning to retire, when her father passed away two years back. And then he had to take the double responsibility.
Dove knew that she would have to take over the company, and that to be capable enough for it. After all, if she didn’t the company would go to the hands of Freya’s son, her step brother, Noah Henley.
And thus she had completely forgotten about her periods not arriving on time. Dove frowned and murmured, "But this had never happened before..." And just then she froze. She rechecked the calender, as something tried to fall in place, making her freeze. Those days...
And the next second, she took her bag before rushing out if the house. Her cars had gone for washing, and servicing, so he simply took a cab.
Dante walked out the room, dressed appropriately for the day, when he saw Calix rushing towards him and he heaved, "Boss!" Dante frowned, and asked, "What is the matter, Calix?"
"B- Boss, Elder Sir Lancaster..." He took a second’s pause, and Dante’s face hardened as he asked, "What happened? What happened to Dad?" Calix straightened himself, and lowered his head before reporting, "Elder Sir Lancaster has been attacked. And he has been rushed to the hospital in emergency. His treatment is going on."
The air around Dante suddenly turned chilly, as he his eyes darkened and he stood quite for a few seconds, before asking, "And who did that?"
"Boss! It was an sudden invasion attack by ..," Dante did not stand there after listening and took long strides out. His father was attacked by one of his enemies. Being in this field of business, apart from business competitors, Dante not have to deal with them, but also the client’s enemies. The clients that the firm had undertaken and provided security for, even there enemies would target them and come behild them. And it was tougher for Dante as he had branched internationally for only a few years. And they still had to establish their footing in that market.
And thus ante rushed to the hospital first.
