Battle Room,
Everyone was watching as only three warriors stood against more than ten sand golems. Even though their leader, Edward, had hinted at how to destroy the sand monsters, it was far from an easy task. The golems were relentless.
Most of the spectators weren’t cheering. They were silent. Tense. They were afraid. Afraid that they might be dragged into the fight, afraid to admit that, deep down, this was already their fight too.
The system’s message had carved fear into their minds...
Complete the tasks or die trying.
That was it—simple and brutal. Unless everyone inside the dungeon was dead or victorious, the map wouldn’t change. There was no escape, no way out.
Lara was crouched on the floor, tears dripping through her fingers as she hid her face in her hands. She didn’t want to die. She didn’t want to face death head-on. But something inside her stirred... trembling as she watched Tyson fight.
He was their leader—the man she loved. And yet, while he was risking his life... she was hiding like a coward.
Her thoughts spiraled. What if Nancy were here? If she were one of the Rangers, would she have stood by Tyson’s side? Would she have fought to protect him... or would she be sitting here too, frozen in fear, doing nothing while her man battled to the death?
Bee mumbled to himself in the corner, rocking slightly as he whispered his own tune."It’s not safe out there... we shouldn’t go..."
Ken clenched his fists, eyes fixed on Tyson. Tyson was brave—so were the others.All of them, unlike the coward Ken had become in the face of the unknown.
