Battle Of Planets

Chapter 92: Desperation

Nancy walked through the crowded streets, her fingers hovering over the keypad, debating whether to reply to Tyson.

She felt guilty for making him suffer the whole day. She could almost hear his voice whispering the words from his text—I love you.

"No, Emily said I should punish him a little," Nancy murmured, glancing at her necklace. "Just a little longer... I’ll make sure he’s happy by the end of the date. She will make sure of it"

A small smile tugged at her lips as she thought about what she could do to make him happy. Maybe a kiss? But what if he wanted something more...something more in the form of an apology?

Well, if he asked for it, then why not? Just as she lowered her phone— A blur of movement, Her phone was gone. Nancy’s heart jumped. A thief!

"My phone!" she shouted, watching the man sprint away. A few people turned, startled. One guy immediately gave chase, but the thief was too fast and disappeared into the maze of alleys.

The man returned moments later, shaking his head. "I’m sorry. He was too fast."

Nancy exhaled, feeling uneasy. Mom will scold her if she finds out. But wait, how will she contact Tyson? She won’t have a way unless she reaches home and calls him herself. She stared at the alley where the thief had vanished. "I... it’s okay. I guess I’ll have to file a complaint first"

"I can tag along," the man offered, "the station is along the way."

She hesitated, "No, thanks. I’ll call my boyfriend," she said, offering a polite smile. "Thanks for trying."

Just as she turned to leave, he sprayed something into the air. A sharp, unfamiliar scent filled her lungs, prompting her to cough, and she waved a hand in front of her face. "What the hell was that?"
