Chapter 77: Good alternative
Lorenzo left the balcony to meet Ashley, who looked stunning in the yellow dress. It clung a little tightly to her frame, likely because she was curvier than Genevieve. But that only made her look even more breathtaking.
For a moment, he lost focus, momentarily breathless. Every outfit he’d seen her on always transformed her as though she redefined the meaning of "beautiful" with each passing second. He couldn’t fathom how foolish Christian must’ve been not to cherish such gem.
A soft clearing of Ashley’s throat brought him back to reality. He blinked, then scratched his head, his eyes darting awkwardly.
"Thanks for the dress," she said, rubbing her arm—a nervous habit that hadn’t escaped his notice.
Aware Lorenzo had a sister, Ashley didn’t see the need to ask who owned the dress. It was obvious.
"It’s nothing," Lorenzo replied, trying to shake off his flustered state.
He briefly considered replacing the dress for Genevieve if she noticed it missing. But he doubted she would, not with that suffocating wardrobe.
And even if she did notice, he could always deny going there. The thought made him chuckle inwardly, remembering the many small mischiefs he’d pulled off around her, and successfully denied involvement.
Ashley’s eyes shifted around the brightly lit hallway, as though she wanted to say something but couldn’t quite find the words.
"Do you need anything else?" Lorenzo asked, trying to break the silence.
She hesitated, and then, almost shyly, murmured, "I... I’m not wearing any panties."
