Game of Love and Deception: The Billionaire's Ex Wife

Chapter 12: You look like sex

"As soon as the project is launched, you'll get a 20% profit from the shares, Mr. Pama. We can both agree it's a juicy deal." Christian said, leaning back on his office chair, as he brokered a deal with a new client of his.

He was barely focusing on the conversation as his mind kept drifting back and forth to Ashley and everything that happened earlier.

"That's quite good, but since my company would be covering the shipment, don't you think the percentage should be higher, Mr Harrington?" Pama replied, but Christian didn't seem like he heard anything.

He had completely zoned off, thinking about how he searched the hospital and the surrounding areas, but caught no glimpse of Ashley. Eventually, he had given up.

But a thought suddenly struck his mind. 'When my car hit her, she seemed to be running away from someone or something' he reasoned, trying to piece the ideas together. 'If she was in danger, she would likely seek help. The police maybe. Yes!' A smile spread across Christian's face making Mr Pama wonder what was going on with him.

Pama had noticed how Christian had been drifting in and out of their conversation, and the slight clench of his jaw showed he was starting to get irritated. He would've walked out if his company was currently suffering a financial backlash and desperately needed this deal to stay afloat. No wonder Christian was treating it with nonchalance.

'If could find her first, if I could offer her protection, she would feel indebted to me again. She would've no choice but to return to me and the company'. Christian continued to think.

Abruptly, he straightened in his seat, and Pama's eyes followed his every movement.

"You're going to have to continue this meeting with my assistant, Mr. Pama." he said, standing and grabbing his suit.

That statement caught Mr Pama off guard. "But—"

Christian didn't give him a chance to protest. By the time Pama processed what was happening, Christian was already walking out. Though he felt disrespected, he didn't argue because he needed the deal.
