Chapter 203: No More Lies

"Why not? It is the truth. Don’t you want to hear the truth?" I reach out and graze his arm lightly. "What I feel for you is scary, Jericho. Terrifying in fact now that you don’t believe a word I say anymore."
He studies me. I’m thrilled that he didn’t pull away from my touch. "Do you regret what happened between us?" he looks conflicted, like he is bracing himself.
"That what happened?"
"That we slept together? That you let me knot you?"
There’s something about this vulnerable side of Jericho that speaks to me. It makes me want to soothe him. Comfort him. Reassure him that he is enough. I’m not sure but maybe growing up in an aggressive family with a brother like Sasha is what makes him doubt himself. But I know that beneath the false perceived bravado, Jericho is one very sensitive and insecure alpha.
"No." I shake my head. ’I don’t regret it one bit." I’m not just saying that. I mean it. I’m also not saying that just because he got me pregnant. He was special to me even before Ai learnt that I was pregnant. Jericho was implanted in my soul long before the baby was implanted in my womb. I’m certain that it is the connection we shared that made the pregnancy possible. We bonded so intensely that a baby was formed out of it. I will always be connected to Jericho if I carry this child full term. It will be a painful, but beautiful connection. Feeling emotional, my hands graze over my belly instinctively without really thinking.
He notices the movement. "Do you feel sick?" he asks.
"No." I clear my throat and drop my hand immediately. "I... uh..." I stutter. "I think I pulled a muscle during the fight with Papa and Danny."
"Oh," he says, his gaze pinned on my stomach.
The way he is staring at my belly makes me nervous. He has an odd expression on his face, and his nostrils are flared. I want to distract him. So, I say, "You didn’t answer me. Have you come to a decision about what you’re gonna do with me?"
