Chapter 152: The Baby Is Coming
(MILES)
Dr Nicholas lets us enjoy the view for another twenty minutes then flicks the machine off. He gets up and removes his gloves then tosses them off to a nearby bun. "So far, everything is going on well. There is nothing to be alarmed about. There are Ni red flags. You two have been doing a great job, and I’d urge you to keep doing it. Just make sure you do some exercise. It will be good for you and the baby. Walking is always good."
"Miles tries to get me to walk every evening." Arlo adds, looking sheepish. "I don’t agree all the time though."
"Well. It is important that you keep in shape. You will need a lot of energy when the baby comes." The doctor shrugs. "Keep nagging him, Miles. He will be grateful for it in the end."
"I will try." I shrug. "He tends to get surly most of the time."
"Would you two quit talking about me like I’m not here?" Arlo frowns. "I will try and take more walks. I promise."
"Dr Nicholas heard that." I turn my attention to the doctor. "You will try and back me up if he tries to say that he never said that."
He laughs. "No. I’m staying out of this." He begins to move towards the door. "Unless you have any other questions."
"No. Thank you for showing us the baby today, doc." Arlo says as he slides off the table. I help him to steady and once his feet are on the ground, he smiles at me.
"Alright then. Take care of each other." Dr Nicholas smiles and leaves the room.
Arlo dresses up quickly and in a few minutes, we leave the room. I had planned to take him for lunch, but as soon as I reach the car, Sasha calls asking me to help him do something. Arlo’s face is scrunched up as we get into the car. I am certain that he is annoyed that Sasha ruined our time together. I don’t like seeing Arlo upset too. The fact that my omega is displeased doesn’t sit right with me.
