Chapter 79: You Know I Love You
(SASHA)
"You know I love you, Sasha. But I still think you were mean to me in the beginning."
"I probably was. I wasn’t in love with you back then." I tug him closer then miss the tip of his nose. "But I love you now. I’ll happily die protecting you. Does that make our beginning a moot point?"
He shrugs. "I guess."
"I mean, if I hadn’t forced you to marry me to begin with, we wouldn’t have fallen in love. So maybe the way I treated you back then was a good thing?"
"No, Sasha. There was nothing good about it. You terrified me."
"Alright."
Tyler can think what he wants. I can’t feel sorry for the past when it’s what brought him to me. I don’t respond because I don’t want to enrage him.
We are silent for a beat when I finally decide to address the elephant in the room. "So, what are you going to do about the baby?"
He tenses. "I really hated Angelo. He tried to murder me twice. I don’t know what to feel about having his child. What if it turns out to be just as evil as its father or even worse?"
"It won’t be evil." I laugh.
