Chapter 22 - 022 Brewing
Upstairs, Tian Xinhua and the two others had their mouths wide open, unable to believe that the imposing man downstairs was actually their doughy eldest brother, Tian Qinghua. Tian Qinghua exclaimed, "Wow! Big brother is so majestic. That's the way to do it, smack them if they don't obey, a filial son comes from the rod."
Tian Xinhua smacked his younger brother on the head, "Is your sister-in-law your brother's son? This is why I told you to study properly!"
Tian Shouhua sighed deeply and said with an emotional tone, "The sleeping lion has finally awakened, the days to come will surely be more splendid!"
Tian Xinhua rolled his eyes, shuddering from the goosebumps on his body, and stood up to go back to his room to sleep. From the looks of it, Zhu Qingping definitely won't be going back to her parents' house, alas, she dodged a bullet!
Downstairs, a mighty Tian Jinhua seemed like a balloon that had been pricked, his courage deflating just as quickly. After hitting Zhu Qingping, he dropped his hands and reverted to his usual wooden self, which was frustrating to see. However, Tian Bajin knew that you couldn't swallow hot buns in one gulp – Jinhua's character couldn't be changed overnight either, alas, slowly but surely, at least there was progress.
"Alright, Grandfather will trust you this time. You manage your own wife, and if Zhu Qingping makes another mistake, I will only hold you accountable," said Tian Bajin before he returned to his room, knowing that his brother would surely come to talk to him tomorrow, so he needed to get to bed early.
Zhu Qingping was overjoyed and looked at Tian Jinhua gratefully. She harbored no resentment towards her husband for the two slaps; instead, she felt that Tian Jinhua exuded masculinity in that moment. She had always complained about Jinhua being too submissive, but now it seemed Jinhua was just yielding to her! She resolved to live well with Jinhua from now on and take good care of him.
After that, Zhu Qingping truly made many improvements. Although minor problems still existed, her attitude towards Tian Jinhua had changed drastically. She no longer yelled and screamed as before, to the amazement of Tian Sisi and others. Tian Jinhua himself hadn't expected his two slaps to have such a significant effect. If he had known, would he have waited till now?
Tian Sisi had no idea that her fall had triggered a family transformation at Bajin's house. She was still busy inside Space! She had to prepare some wild rabbits and chickens, along with some eggs and fruits, starting with these simple items. As time went by, she planned to gradually bring out other food supplies like grains and oils. By then, she would pin it all on the white ape, which should work without major issues.
In reality, Tian Sisi was oversimplifying matters. She was fortunate, as Old Man Tian had cleaned up after her, and Granny Zhao, Tian Mantong, and Zhu Aiqing genuinely cherished her, allowing Tian Sisi to be without worries. Otherwise, if it were anyone else, Tian Sisi could have been hurt.
Last time, Tian Sisi had just climbed to the foot of the mountain before she ventured out, but this time, she intended to climb to the summit. Although the snakes made her legs wobbly, she bravely continued upwards. Along the way, Tian Sisi saw many wild vegetables and herbs that she recognized from the illustrations in her notebook, all used for brewing medicinal wine.
To her surprise, there was even a tiger on the mountain. When Tian Sisi saw the vividly striped tiger, she nearly fainted from fear. Fortunately, she quickly remembered that the animals in Space wouldn't attack their owner, allowing her to timidly bypass the tiger and keep climbing. The mountain wasn't too high, though it was slightly taller than Yuequan Mountain. Panting, Tian Sisi reached the summit and looked down to find the other side enveloped in white fog, obscuring her view.
