Transmigrated as My Aunt in the 70s

Chapter 17 - 017 Small Bread

"Sister, have you never bought us biscuits before?" Qinghua finally voiced out the question he had been holding in all afternoon. On any other day, he would never dare to ask such a thing, but these past few days, Tian Sisi had been so kind and amiable, his courage had grown considerably.

"Ah?" Tian Sisi was caught off guard by her little brother's abrupt question. She turned to look at Qinghua and saw in her little brother's eyes a mix of grievance and accusation. His two big glistening eyes just stared at her, and although Donghua next to him wasn't as expressive, the hurt in his expression was evident too. Tian Sisi immediately felt an indescribable guilt.

She had been thinking only about buying biscuits for the duped little brother Zhenhua that afternoon, completely forgetting about these two little ones! It seemed their young hearts had been deeply wounded. Guilty, Tian Sisi quickly thought of something, "How could Sister forget about Donghua and Qinghua? Close your eyes, watch me perform a magic trick."

Half-skeptical, Donghua and Qinghua closed their eyes. Tian Sisi turned her back and pretended to rummage in her pocket, but actually took out two Daliyuan small buns she had purchased from a store. She tore the plastic wrapping and exclaimed, "Ta-da, look what Sister has turned into something amazing for you?"

Both little ones opened their eyes and saw their sister holding two yellow pastries, exuding a tempting aroma, more fragrant than the cakes their uncle brought during the new year's celebrations. They eagerly took the small buns, bringing them to their noses and sniffing vigorously, "It smells so good! Sister, what is this?"

"Bread. As long as you behave, Sister will make tasty treats for you every day. But you mustn't tell anyone about this. If someone else finds out, I won't buy it anymore," Tian Sisi warned them.

Both nodded earnestly, their round eyes wide, promising they absolutely wouldn't tell anyone else. Tian Sisi smiled contentedly, patting their rounded heads, thinking how nice it was to have such adorable little brothers; it felt like raising little puppies.

The two asked, "Sister, have you eaten yet?" Once they received Tian Sisi's affirmative answer, little Qinghua quickly gobbled up his small bun in just a few bites. After finishing, he kept smacking his lips, savoring the sweet aroma of the bread. "The bread is really tasty, just a bit small. Sister, do you have any more?"

"No more today, we'll eat again tomorrow. Donghua, why aren't you eating?" Tian Sisi asked curiously, noticing the older brother holding onto his bun without eating.
