Chapter 3: Uncle Hasn’t Eaten People for a Long Time
Yun Qiuce traveled all day and finally met Yun Qi in the evening.
He didn't expect the little girl to be quite adorable, with fair and tender skin, delicate features, and a short bob haircut; a small red mole between her eyebrows added a bit of charm. A red string around her neck threaded with five copper coins matched her floral long dress, making her look like a little girl from a minority group.
She was nothing like the savage and clumsy image he had imagined.
"Yun Qi, come over to Uncle Fourth." He waved to his little niece.
Yun Qi had known her family would come to pick her up, but suddenly seeing a stranger made her eyes full of resistance.
Yun Qiuce thought kids would be kids and needed coaxing. He instantly got a brilliant idea, grinned at Yun Qi, and made a funny face, "Little one, don't be scared, Uncle hasn't eaten anyone in ages."
...
Yun Qi blinked her bright eyes, looking at Taoist Wu You, with a message in her eyes: Is my uncle an idiot?
Taoist Wu You subtly shook his head, signaling her: Doesn't seem very smart.
