Imperator: Resurrection of an Empire

Chapter 244 - 242

While Julius had left behind the medicus tent, and retired to his own tent for the night.

Inside his encampment however the events that occurred within the medicus tent began to spread throughout his legions ranks like wildfire.

In the eyes of his people, Julius was a glorious monarch one who was fair to his people, but meanwhile in the eyes of his military.

Julius was becoming the epitome of a godking in the eyes of his legionaires, not only was he quickly becoming a true god of war, but now his ability to use what the men had started to refer to as holy power, the power of the gods in the hands of a man with divine right to rule, paired with the godly skill in battle to stand almost unscathed in battle even against impossible odds.

As the stories continued to circulate the legion themself started to believe fervently so that the losses they’d suffered throughout the day were actually a lie, a lie told to them by Julius to keep his legion humble in their own mortality under his command.

And that the handful of legionaires were instead just hiding away or had already been aware of the next of the Commander Generals plans, and had already volunteered for the next operations.

By the time morning came, even though their hill top fortress had come under attack by assailing Greecians who’d attempted to scale over the rocky escarpments, but were quickly dealt with by the sentries who were buoyed by the ever growing legend of their godking, so much so that when on duty their focus had never been stronger and as a result their was no slacking on the night duty not even for a minute.

Each of the coming assassins and saboteurs could only curse their poor luck to choose this of all nights to conduct this missions.

Opposite, the Romanus legionnaire who’d been enlisted had dressed themselves like ninja’s wearing all black clothing, and their own efforts were much more successful against the Greecians while they couldn’t infiltrate the camp itself they were able to still able harrass the onduty men.

Their efforts however were not as effective as the night raids conducted against the greecian encampment while they were still fighting back in Spartan lands.
