Imperator: Resurrection of an Empire

Chapter 219: Night Raid (1)

Julius had met up with King Leonidas and his men along with the Romanus commanders who’d been leading the slower advancing Auxilliary force of the Greecian war slaves.

And now that, that was dealt with he began his next course of action, while the allied forces were streaming into the fort Julius’s had called all his men to arms, preparing to march out once again.

The reason of course was the simultaneous arrival of their enemy, the Argosian army.

Following the customs of greecian warfare this army was in the middle of setting up camp the following day they would take to the field for a series of champion battles.

But this was highly inefficient for Julius, he planned to breech this code of conduct and introduce the Argosians to Romanus shock combat.

As the sun fell further and further into the west the days light faded out, and nights first lack of light loomed in the distance.

But still the command was issued and the 10,000 men led by their king sallied forth.

Marching off into the night from the safety of their new home.

The enemy had chosen to setup camp not far away so the march was relatively quick but the legion did not march as one, they continued to break off into forces the size of Cohorts.
