Chapter 195: Calm Before The Storm
Peace had returned to the lands of Latinium.
Many did not even know they had been at war for all of a day with the Kingdom of Roserun, and as new spread about the acquisition of new territories thanks to the caseation of these lands following Roserun’s loss in the single battle of the war.
The people believed this simply to have been a gift to the Grand Duke, their King in essence as a Coronation present by the King of Roserun who remained in power thank in part to the Grand Duke’s numerous efforts in the recent wars.
Some were angry that Roserun was allowed to continue existing after having heard their attempted invasion and felt the loss of land was to little a price for them to pay, but none were ready to go against the Grand Dukes decision.
The three kingdoms had been united under a common leader all looked to him with reverence and by using his power he further strengthened the nation, daily he would stop to check on the state of the [World Map] waiting for his moment to act, but until then his time was free.
Free to upgrade the run down cities to the latest standards expected within his new nation, the deployment of fields, that now blanketed the lands.
Completion of the sheer piles of paperwork that were building up being sent to him by the various departments such as those for War, Educations, Agriculture, Economy and many more.
By compartmentalizing these departments would aid in the overall running of the nation without having any really decision making powers of their own except in emergency situation so that in his Autocracy all the power safety rested with himself.
The Military was his, local lords and mayors did not have the right to raise personal guard forces of their own and instead were given he right to command the present legions but this right could be rescinded should their command be unbecoming of their station.
