Imperator: Resurrection of an Empire

Chapter 169: Reunification And Revitalization

- - General POV - -

The end of reunification war against the Lunan remnant was coming to an end, what remained of Lunan fell faster than the north did when they fought against Visigoth even the second time, the astonishing capture speed was disturbing news when the surrounding nations came to know of it, for a starter duchy being able to completely conquer even the remaining half of a superior kingdom the news gathered stated that the north had been rung dry but the south was still ready for war but yet it fell simply before the apparently overwhelming might of Julius, even the marshalled armies of Visigoth could not stop him when he was just a mere lord but now...

The nations were still conducting their own build up so they hastily began dispatching envoys towards the newly established nation’s capital to quickly create ties with this burgeoning nation before this upstart could turn his unstoppable forces against their own countries.

- - Julius POV - -

The rebuilding of the city was completed in short order and since the land fell to be under Julius’s control the craftsmen living within the city had already begun to implement the new technologies Julius had unlocked via his system.

The city roadways were beginning to undergo an upgrade to become that of the Roman roads already being constructed within the Core province of Latinium.

It was only a few days later that the 1st Army under General Haddin’s command arrived at the city itself, the force present was lesser than when they left The Eternal City however this was not due to the loss of life, but instead was because garrisons were left behind in the conquered territory to police the population and secure the new borders.

With his army having arrived the general was honestly shocked to find that the Grand Duke National flag was already flying its colour atop the city walls, and long banners hanging down from the main gatehouse announcing the lord’s presence within the city.

With his men tired from the long march Haddin quickly rode ahead to see if the city could house all of his men or if they should begin setting up camp.
