Chapter 198: Lovely Guests -1
Sophia fell, her body hitting against the rocks, the impact jarring and painful. She was clueless, trembling, not sure what had happened. It was then she realized a rope was tied around her waist all this time. She had been so scared and panicked at the sight of Ronan that she failed to notice earlier. The rough texture of the rope bit into her skin, but it was the only thing keeping her from plummeting to her death.
A sigh of relief escaped her mouth as someone started pulling her up. Fortunately, she hadn’t died yet, but what awaited her at the top didn’t let her enjoy her narrow escape from death. Her body was bruised and battered, her breaths coming in ragged gasps as she was hoisted back up. The fear still clung to her, making her heart race uncontrollably.
As she reached the edge of the cliff, Ronan’s men helped her and pulled her out. Avery could barely hold her snicker as Sophia rolled on the ground, sitting up and panting for air. The once proud woman was now crumbling like an abandoned puppy, and Avery couldn’t wait to see what Ronan would do to her. He was a mafia kingpin for a reason!
"Get her some water," Ronan suggested to his men. His voice was so gentle and kind, but it was laced with a narcissistic undertone. Sophia glared at him, heaving heavy panting sighs. Ronan smiled sweetly at her, patiently waiting for her to calm down so he could throw another blow.
The men helped her out of the ropes tied around her, and Sophia grabbed for the water, drinking it as if she had been thirsty for decades. She coughed out loud, wiping her mouth before drinking again. She was desperate and scared, trembling and shaking, her body still reeling from the shock and fear.
"Slow down. I don’t want you to die so soon," Ronan commented with the same sweet smile. Sophia sneered at his comment and threw aside the bottle. She wanted to run away but was quite sure she would be brought back here, bound to be tortured more.
She still tried to get up, but the moment she did, two bouncers held her up, locking her hands.
"Leave me, assholes!" Sophia cried out loud, kicking her legs in the air. She seethed at Ronan, who was smiling, her eyes then falling on Evelyn leaning against her car. It was all because of her!
"What’s the hurry, Mrs. Wright?" Ronan murmured, walking closer and patting her cheeks as if dealing with a kid throwing tantrums.
Sophia gritted her teeth, almost urging to spit at him, but she held back. He might just extend her death date if she further poked his anger.
"Just a reminder to try running away," Ronan continued, his tone dropping seriously low. "Even if you do, I will hunt you down and bring you back."
