The Billionaire's Rental Wife Is A Hot Shot

Chapter 92: He Needs You Again

Natalie felt her world spin, the room tilting in ways she couldn’t control as she stared at Dominic, looking pale with his head covered in bandage. His voice, so familiar yet distant, sent shockwaves through her, making it impossible to breathe.

Does he remember only their time in Aracemia? The words rang in her ears, over and over, like a cruel joke. Not their entire tumultuous history, not the hurt or the betrayal, just... the early, sweeter times. A time when things were simpler, a time before it all fell apart.

Sabrina’s voice cut through the silence, her own shock quickly transforming into anger. "How could he only remember her?!" Sabrina’s fury was palpable, her eyes narrowing as they flickered from Dominic to Natalie. "Doesn’t he know who else was here for him? Who else fought for him all this time?"

She had given birth to him, raised and was the only one he would ever obey. To see Dominic, her precious son, forget her, and remember only Natalie was a direct blow to her pride and love. She gritted her teeth, fury rolling off her in the form of hot tears.

Dr. Mathew, sensing the tension growing in the room, stepped forward and cleared his throat. "Mr. Grey," he said carefully, his voice calm but firm. "Can you tell me where we are right now?"

Dominic’s brow furrowed, a sharp flash of pain crossing his features. He winced, his hand going to his temple as if trying to ward off the discomfort. His eyes shut tightly, the effort of recalling even the simplest memory was too much.

"We’re in Aracemia," Dominic finally murmured, his voice hoarse and strained. "I just had surgery... for the tumor."

The room fell into a stunned silence. Even the junior doctors who had been observing the case felt their breath catch, some whispering among themselves, astonished by what they were witnessing.

Natalie gasped softly, her hand flying to her mouth. Aracemia? It was as though Dominic’s mind had jumped back in time to a period when everything was just beginning—their hopes, their dreams, and the battle against his illness. Her heart ached. Of all the memories to hold onto, he had chosen this one—a time before the fractures in their relationship had started.
