Chapter 115: The Visit
"Why does Vivian come to me, instead of returning to the dungeon?" Reana asked as she took her seat at the head table, her gaze on Vivian, who stood with her head lowered.
She slowly lifted her head and tears appeared in her eyes, as she suddenly dropped to her knees. "Forgive me, Sister, I was wrong. I let my ambition cloud my judgment, and I betrayed your trust." Vivian’s voice cracked as she spoke, her words laced with desperation and remorse.
Reana’s expression remained unreadable, her eyes fixed on Vivian, "Oh? Did Vivian betray me?"
Vivian’s eyes widened, how could she pretend to not know, when Ryan and the others were said to have confessed everything?
She swallowed. If Reana wanted to play, she too would play with her. With that, Vivian nodded fervently, tears streaming down her face.
"Yes, Sister... I– I was blinded by my desire for power and status. I allowed others to manipulate me, so I conspired against you, and I’m deeply sorry for my actions." Vivian’s voice trembled, and she bowed her head, awaiting Reana’s judgment.
The air was thick with tension as Reana’s silence stretched out, her gaze piercing and unyielding. "You conspired against me with who? Ryan, your mother, or your brother, Kael... Which of them?"
Vivian’s body trembled not from fear, but rage. How dare Reana talk about her family like that?
But she couldn’t let her anger be known. As she hesitated, as if weighing her options, Reana sneered. She’d seen this scene in her vision.
