Chapter 108: Mirian’s Messy Love Life
Mirian’s spine tingled with a cold dread as Ryder’s words made her heart sink. "B– but he’s not my mate," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ryder’s gaze locked onto the feather and bone tangled in her hair. "Yet, you accepted his proposal," he pointed out, his tone laced with a hint of amusement. "You accepted to be his chosen mate."
Mirian’s face burned with a mix of indignation and embarrassment. "My wolf didn’t stir or react like when we first found our mate."
Ryder’s brow arched, his expression a mask of amusement, unwilling to reveal more, savoring the mystery.
In their past life, Detroit and Marcus had been her adopted brothers, they loved and pampered her to a fault. Had her mate not showed up, perhaps, she would have ended up mating one of them.
And now, the moon goddess had once again played their dates like a game of chess, moving the pieces of their lives like pawns on a chessboard.
The Dark Snow Pack, branded as "unbelievers," had been cursed by the goddess. They were denied the chance to find their destined mates. And even if by chance, they found each other, their love would be far from smooth sailing.
A rival would inevitably emerge, vying for the she-wolf’s heart. The cruel twist of fate was that, more often than not - 99 times out of 100 - the she-wolf’s heart would be divided, most of the time, ending up in reverse harem – two men, one woman.
But in this peculiar case, Mirian was not the destined mate of either Detroit or Marcus. Instead, the trio was bound by the lingering threads of affection from their past lives.
