Chapter 68: The Wheel Of Fate Is Spinning
The sky was a deep, foreboding black, like a physical presence that suffocated her. Reana’s heightened senses were on high alert, but the silence was deafening, oppressive. It was as if the very fabric of sound had been ripped apart, leaving only an eerie stillness.
Ryder was nowhere to be found, despite having followed her out of the room. It was as if he had vanished into thin air, leaving Reana alone and vulnerable.
"Reana," a voice called, the sound sending shivers down her spine. It was familiar, yet strange, like a deja vu.
A flicker of light appeared in the distance, casting eerie shadows on the ground. Reana’s body moved of its own accord, drawn to the light like a moth to flame, as the light led her forward, into the unknown.
She tried to resist, but her legs seemed to have a mind of their own, carrying her towards the light with an unnatural, jerky gait.
As she walked, the air grew thick with an unnatural, heavy silence. The darkness seemed to writhe and twist around her, like living shadows.
"A rebel," a voice whispered beside her ear. She jumped, her head jerking to the side, but she only came face-to-face with thick darkness.
Reana’s heart trembled, but the invisible force pulled her forward again.
"He’s a rebel," came the voice again.
The sound sent a jolt of fear through Reana’s veins. She halted, her head snapping towards the sound.
’He is not!’ she subconsciously retorted, but her voice was muffled, trapped in her throat like a living thing.
