"Quite well." Damien nodded, trying to hold my hand.

I avoided Damien’s hand and stood apathetically in place.

Damien lowered his eyes and turned to go downstairs.

Following him, I asked, "Damien, why do you think I’m Sophia Milford?"

Damien’s steps faltered, and he looked back at me. "Because you are."

"What if someone else comes to you tomorrow claiming that she’s Sophia Milford? Who will you choose?" I asked with a cold smile.

Damien was stunned. "That won’t happen. I can recognize you."

I laughed.

Really?

Dexter could recognize me quickly after seeing me, but I didn’t believe Damien could do the same.

If Juliet and Peter’s plan really succeeded, would Dexter and Damien still recognize me? Would they still trust me?
