The Devil's Good Girl

Chapter 284: She’s a demon

"I’ll communicate with the prince outside the imperial palace. I can’t go inside or the crown prince will be in danger."

"That’s what the witch said before we turned around to find her a place to stay, Your Highness," the henchman reported, standing in front of the crown prince’s wide desk. "She looked very scared, Your Highness."

Quentin pounded the bottom of his fist against the surface of the desk. He ground his teeth in anger, but at the same time, feeling a lot more trapped in this situation.

"Is she truly a witch?" he hissed, and the knight nodded.

"Your Highness, I’ve searched high and low to find a witch. I’ve had to use extreme means just to find her," the knight reassured. "I can assure you she’s a real one. Although she chose to stay hidden outside of the imperial palace, she sent you a letter because she seemed to be worried about you."

The knight took out a small piece of paper and placed it on the crown prince’s desk. Although he was worried about the "demon" the witch spewed, he was also relieved the witch would have to stay out of the imperial palace.

The knight thought it was simply a reckless mumbling of the witch and that it was even more dangerous to keep her inside the palace walls.

Quentin glanced at the letter and quickly picked it up.

[Your Highness, the Crown Prince,

I now understand your dilemma. I was told by your knight that you were looking for a witch to confirm something. However, I’m afraid I cannot meet you in person for my sake and also for yours.

The royal palace is currently nested with a demonic entity that even I, a witch, would be no match. Even if I use a forbidden spell, I am too old to return a sealed demon to its place. Having said this, I have to warn you, Your Highness.
