Chapter 282: The truth will set both of us free.
[PRESENT TIME]
Fil let out a grunt as she regained her consciousness. Even before she could open her eyes, the painful throb in her head assaulted her.
"Ugh..." she tried opening her eyes, blinking weakly until her vision grew clear.
The place she woke up in was dark, but because of the moonlight peeking through the small broken windows, she was able to estimate how wide this place was. She guessed it was an abandoned warehouse or just a big garage. She wasn’t sure, but what she was sure of was that she was tied to the chair.
"Hah..." she breathed out, hanging her head low. ’Who could have done this to her?’
Fil closed her eyes and took another deep breath. She mustered her strength and tried to free herself from the chair. But alas, her ropes were tightly knit, and there was no way she could free herself without any other objects.
Putting aside the thoughts of who could have done such a despicable deed, Fil tried to adjust her eyes to the darkness. She had to search for anything to free herself. But alas, even when her eyes adjusted to the darkness and was able to see things around, there was nothing she could grab.
’Jack...’ she mentally called, wondering if he already knew by now that she had gone missing.
The throb in her head wasn’t helping, making her clench her teeth. When she reopened her eyes, she gazed down at her chair.
’It’s wood.’
Since the ropes tied around her and the chair, Fil thought if this chair broke, the rope would loosen.
