Chapter 254: Sickening
Not many would understand Felix and, although there was no excuse, Raul couldn’t help but think it was the right decision. With all the death threats at Felix at that time on top of his wife’s threats, his innocent little child would’ve been in great danger.
Raul sighed deeply once again, feeling sorry for the chairman.
’Now that he is at this point in his life, he thinks he should’ve fought for her,’ he thought. ’But Miss Filomena already sees him as her ex-fiance’s grandfather. No one knows how she will take it if she finds out the chairman was actually her father.’
Raul was torn, knowing this was very complicated.
On one hand, he understood that the chairman wanted to leave all his wealth to his only child. On the other hand, it would complicate Fil’s life. After all, even if they conceal the truth, doubt would rise and questions would quickly follow.
’Whatever the answer was... I don’t want to know for now.’Raul fixed the blanket and rose from his seat.
He quietly bowed to the chairman and walked away. But as soon as he opened the door, he flinched when Vincent was standing right outside.
"Director Hale," Raul awkwardly called. "What are you...?"
"I heard he had another attack today," said Vincent with a grim tone, lifting his slightly sunken eyes. "I’m here to check up on him."
Raul forced a smile, feeling this inexplicable uneasiness in his heart. "It’s not an attack, Director Hale. The Chairman is fine."
"Is that so?" Vincent rocked his head, took a step forward, and then stopped. "Secretary Ma, why are you blocking my way?"
