Chapter 197: Lose my mind
As agreed, Marcus stopped by the supermarket so Fil could buy ingredients to make hangover soup for Elise. She told him she could do it herself, but he insisted on helping her. After all, Elise was deep asleep in the car and it would be quick.
Fil didn’t want to look defensive and if he was serious with Elise, she didn’t want to have any awkwardness between them. Hence, she agreed. Their time in the supermarket was quick and Marcus simply showed little interest in everything she was buying, telling her so he knew what to buy once he needed to make it himself.
So far, Marcus kept a safe distance from her. And because of that, they were able to buy the ingredients as quickly as possible. Once they finished, they returned to the car and drove a few more minutes to Elise’s home.
Marcus carried Elise in his arms while Fil carried the ingredients. Once they got into Elise’s place, Marcus took her to the bedroom and Fil went straight to the kitchen. Fil had been in Elise’s place more than once before. Therefore, she was a little familiar with the place.
"I didn’t change her clothes," said Marcus as he walked into the kitchen, leaning his back against the kitchen counter. His hands rested on either side of him. "Though I wiped her face with a towel. She ended up throwing up."
Fil smiled at him while stirring the soup. "She shouldn’t have drank so much."
"I’m surprised you can hold your liquor well," he pointed out. "You used to be a lightweight."
"I’m still a lightweight. I just took little sips."
"You downed the entire glass."
