Chapter 195: A good couple
If there were one trait that Marcus was good at, that would be his skills in getting a person’s trust. He always portrayed himself as a kind and considerate person, eventually blindsiding them into ignoring the red flags. Fil fell for that once until Vincent’s cheating and Marcus beat Kenzo just because he could.
It was why she knew Marcus didn’t approach Elise for no reason.
"I’m sorry, Fil." Elise pouted while nervously fidgeting with her fingers. "I wanted to tell you early today, but I didn’t get the chance. Or I got a little scared of what you’d think."
Sitting across from Elise and Marcus, Fil forced a smile.
"It’s alright," Fil said, snapping her eyes to Marcus, who sat next to Elise. "It’s nice to see you, Marcus."
"The feeling is mutual, Fil." Marcus sported a friendly smile. "I didn’t want you to know this way, but what’s done is done."
"How did you two...?" Kenzo trailed off as if he realized he shouldn’t ask. However, Elise happily shared how their relationship started.
"Well, it just kinda happened," Elise blushed, but her tone exuded excitement. "Marcus and I met when Fil took me to his party, but then, we met again by accident. From then on, we kept in touch. One thing led to another."
"And we... felt that there’s a connection," Marcus added with a smile, his eyes squinting. "So, we decided to see each other and get to know each other more."
