The Devil's Good Girl

Chapter 167: Crazy

It had been a while since Fil barely slept for the night. What Michael said and Marianne did kept her awake. It bothered her, especially Marianne.

The question of why would Marianne hurt Valerie kept repeating in her mind. On top of that, why was Michael acting ’out of character?’

What was going on?

Was she that blissfully ignorant of the people she saw a few times a week in the past several years?

Fil knew that she should listen to Michael. After all, Jackson had never stopped reminding her of the consequences and outcome of the revenge. However, the other part of her told her she had to know. Before she put a stop to everything and lived a life just the way she should, she wanted to see the truth.

Could she still leave and save her own skin?

Or was that a foolish dream? Because right now, she already felt trapped.

With that thought in mind, Fil immediately went to Marianne’s room as soon as the morning sun spread in the world. Standing in front of the door, Fil took a deep breath and forced a smile.

She knocked.

"Anne? It’s me," she said. "I know you’re awake."

Fil pressed her lips together, staring at the door, and waited. When a minute had passed and there was no sign of movement inside, she knocked again.
