Chapter 156: That’s a shame
Knowing Valerie and Rosalind, Fil was certain those two wicked duo would try to do something. However, there was nothing that came to Fil’s mind with the chairman around. They might be hilariously dumb and cruel, but they would never do anything to humiliate the chairman purposely.
The chairman might be kind and generous, but he could also be harsh to his family. He wouldn’t hesitate to throw away even his only daughter and granddaughter just to teach them a lesson. Hence, Fil should’ve known there were other ways to attack her without humiliating the chairman and Vincent.
Another round of applause erupted in the venue hall as Vincent presented the masterpiece he painstakingly got his hands on for his grandfather. Although not many of them were art enthusiasts, those who knew a thing or two recognized the value of it.
"Chairman Hale, I do not want to ask this, but if you’re interested, maybe we can set up your grandson and my daughter for a blind date?" suggested a man at the same table as the chairman. "The chief director is already at the age of marrying. He should have children of his own while he’s young."
"Ahem!" another man cleared his throat. "We all want someone like the chief director as a son-in-law, but isn’t your daughter recently involved in a rumor?"
The men started to banter again, this time trying to set up their daughters or granddaughters with Vincent. No one could blame them. Watching Vincent from afar, one would be impressed by his demure, eloquence, and overall upbringing.
Vincent was the only candidate for the next head of the Hale Family. Additionally, he was smart, graduated from a prestigious university, and since joining Hale Constructions he has made significant smart decisions for the company’s benefits. The gift he presented tonight and how this event unfolded without a hitch proved many things aside from money.
The art Vincent gifted to his grandfather was not something one could easily obtain. Regardless of how much money one got, it wasn’t as easy as that. After all, this renowned painter only makes a piece every three years or five. If Vincent got it, then that left many people wondering:
What else could this man achieve?
