Chapter 126: Feels funny
The light from the phone stole Fil’s attention, making her stop applying her moisturizer as her eyes fell on her phone. She had kept it on mute the whole day, knowing she didn’t want distraction with today’s agenda. But since Marcus took the bait earlier than expected, Fil had no reason to ignore Jackson.
"Oh, it’s not him," she muttered as she checked the sender.
The corner of her mouth curled up because the first thing that welcomed her was a selfie of Elijah and Jackson. By the look of it, the two were chilling by the pool.
"Goodness. It looks like they’re having a lot of fun," she commented, checking the other photos Elijah sent.
Elijah kept her updated ever since they arrived at the private resort. There were pictures of the lobby, her parents sitting in the waiting area, Elijah’s selfies, and bits of captions for each. Her little brother even sent her some clips of his room, their parents’ suites, and then photos from a restaurant with Jackson. Jackson left a little late, hence, he probably arrived around lunch.
"This is so good," she whispered, smiling from ear to ear. "Mom and Dad are really in vacation mode. I hadn’t seen them wear something really nice for a long time."
Even though Fil bought her parents new clothes they could wear, her parents liked wearing the ones they had grown used to. They kept telling her their old clothes were comfortable. It wasn’t like she didn’t understand that, but even so, she always felt helpless.
So, seeing her mother rocking a floral dress and her father’s summer blouse made her heart soften up. They looked stress-free and relaxed; pictures of them chilling by the pool or drinking a cocktail were enough to make Fil happy. There were also photos of her father and mother talking to Jackson.
"Now, I’m actually jealous of them," she pouted, raising her brows when a notification appeared on top of the screen. She pressed her lips into a thin line, checking the message that polluted her happy moment.
