Chapter 107: Didn’t do this!
A resounding slap echoed in Valerie’s ears as her face was tossed aside. Her eyes instantly went wide, at first shocked. Her cheek only throbbed a second later, realizing what had just happened.
Valerie touched her cheek, slowly facing her brother, who had always pampered her. "Brother...?"
"Valerie, what did you do?" Vincent’s voice shook in anger. "Was it true? Hmm? Did you hurt Fil?"
"No!" Valerie exclaimed in defense. "I never even touched her!"
Her breath hitched when Vincent suddenly raised his phone to her. Valerie blinked a couple of times, eyes shaking as she gazed at the phone.
"You didn’t?" Vincent repeated. "If you didn’t, then care to explain this?"
For a moment, Valerie held her breath, studying the close-up photo of a woman’s cheek and then the cut on her lips. Fil’s entire face might not be included in the photo, but by the shape of her face and lips, there was no doubt it was her.
Not that Valerie didn’t know these injuries.
When Fil walked out on her, her cheek was red and started swelling. Her lips had already bled too. But alas...
"I didn’t do this!" Valerie defended herself even more aggressively. "That cunning bitch is framing me! She did that to herself!"
Valerie was almost screaming her lungs out while trying her best to convince her brother. When Vincent’s expression only showed dismay, she looked back at Marcus. Marcus already had his swivel chair facing the other direction, his expression cold.
