Chapter 101: Money can’t fix stupidity
"Get out of here. I need to talk to her. It’s a serious matter and not just some gossip you seem to enjoy."
Elise looked at Valerie with genuine wonder, stunned for a second. Did this young lady say what they heard her say? Elise scoffed, casting Fil a look and then back to the young lady.
"Haha!" Elise laughed, scratching her temple, confused about how to act. "Fil, do you know her?"
Fil kept her eyes on the arrogant look on Valerie’s face. "Vincent’s little sister."
"Ah. That explains it." Elise chuckled weakly again, pushing herself to stand up. "Hey, little missy. How old are you?"
"Not as old as the two of you, obviously." Valerie shrugged. "Leave. I need to talk to her."
"Did you hit your head as a kid?" Elise returned, erecting her index as she made circles in front of her ear. "I want to know, just in case before I become a meanie to someone I shouldn’t be."
"What are you being so worked up for?" Valerie frowned. "Was it because I called you an old lady? That’s normal. People grow old, though there’s an option to be old and pretty."
Elise let out a scoff while Fil stayed back, not worried about Elise. If anything, she was worried Elise would get suspended if she sent this young lady crying.
"And you’ll never be one of those." Elise smiled.
"Huh? Do you know who I am? I’ve been taking care of myself —"
