Chapter 150: Future Plans
On the way back, Yuka requested from Toru the list of Stellar Corps members who had perished in the conflict.
As she scanned the names, each a reminder of the sacrifices made, she informed her crew that the Stellar Corps would be disbanded.
The Corps, formed specifically to combat the Queen, had achieved its purpose, and its dissolution, while logical, cast a shadow of melancholy over the group.
The faces around her mirrored the sense of loss, understanding yet somber at the disbandment of the Corps they had served with honor.
Yuka, sensing their sadness, offered a reassuring smile, saying, "Even though the Stellar Corps is disbanding, your bravery and contributions will never be forgotten. Your rewards and honors will remain intact. We are, and will always be, comrades. Should you choose to join the Alliance Army in the future, remember the principles that guided you here – the cause for which you fought and the people you fought to protect."
Everyone responded in unison, "Yes, Commander!"
Toru, after a brief hesitation, brought up the subject of Yuka’s future role. "Commander, will you take over the Alliance Army and become the new General Fleet Admiral? Or will you manage the Alliance?"
Seeing Yuka’s puzzled look, Toru explained, "You have the highest reputation now, almost as much as Admiral Kuba. If he leads the Alliance Army, there might be new reforms. And if you manage the Alliance, I think the whole Alliance will become even better."
"The Alliance will get better, but not under the management of just one person," Yuka replied, putting down the list. "I’ve always believed that one person can’t manage the Alliance well, otherwise it would end up like the old monarchy. The Alliance needs to be managed collectively by everyone. We’ll take it slow."
