Chapter 134: Farce Coming to an End (1)
The blow dealt by the Alliance Science Academy hit not only the royal family but also the space pirates.
Bartland wasn’t surprised that the first wave of insects he released was stopped by the Alliance Army. As long as the Queen was there, they could continuously produce a large number of insects to keep attacking the Alliance.
He was planning a second wave of insects to attack at night when he saw the chaos on the Alliance side through a new opticomputer. Lying back in his chair, he felt pleased, postponing his battle plans to enjoy watching the three factions bite each other.
The more chaotic the situation, the happier he was. If the Alliance started fighting within itself, the Alliance Army wouldn’t have the strength to deal with the insect swarm, making it easier for him to control the entire Alliance.
However, his joy didn’t last long. Upon seeing the statement from the Science Academy, Bartland’s face darkened immediately.
The space pirates and the Alliance Army were naturally opposed. The only ones who could join forces with them were the Science Academy and the royal family. But the royal family was useless. Humphrey at the Science Academy at least provided some help. Now, it seemed likely that Humphrey had been captured, and the current leaders of the Science Academy had joined forces with the Alliance Army.
Bartland clenched the edge of the table until the iron table cracked, then turned to his subordinates with a terrifying smile, "Go get the solution Humphrey made earlier. I want to prepare a special gift for Kuba. I can’t wait to see his pained expression when he receives it."
"Also," Bartland suddenly realized Humphrey was still useful to them and continued to instruct his subordinates, "find Humphrey in the Alliance Science Academy and bring him to me."
He remembered Humphrey’s research on insectoid evolution had reached the second stage. If successful, the Alliance Army would face even more brutal insectoids. Bartland’s eyes flashed with madness, as if he could already see the Alliance Army being devoured by the insectoids, his mouth twisting into an excited grin.
The subordinate, not daring to stay in the same room with him for another second, rushed out to get Humphrey from the Science Academy.
The space pirates hidden in Capital Octoxis received the message and immediately headed to the Alliance Science Academy. However, they failed to breach the Academy’s advanced defense system and were caught red-handed by the enforcement officers who came to take Humphrey away. They were all taken to the Alliance prison, ready for interrogation.
