~Zara’s POV~
"No," I gritted out through clenched teeth, every ounce of my being fighting against her pull. "I won’t."
Suddenly, a spark ignited deep within me, a faint but fierce light that pushed back against the darkness.
The head witch’s smirk faltered, her eyes narrowing. "What’s this?"
The light grew stronger, spreading through my body and pushing against the tendrils of dark energy. The chanting of the witches faltered, their voices trembling as the light began to fill the chamber.
The pain in my chest lessened, replaced by a warmth that felt like sunlight breaking through a storm. I grasped onto it, holding it tight as I pushed back against the head witch’s power.
"You can’t have me," I spat, my voice trembling but firm.
The head witch growled, her calm demeanour shattering. "You foolish girl! You don’t know what you’re doing!"
But I didn’t stop. I let the light consume me, let it pour out of me in waves that sent the witches stumbling back.
