Weeks had passed since the charity events. Despite that, the headlines were still filled with the raging news of Kai being the CEO of ED. Apart from that, news of the Blackwood total downfall also made waves in the news. Previously, it seemed they still had a chance to stand up, but somehow, they began to plummet rapidly. Investors were leaving, stocks were being bought for less than their actual value, and worst of all, one of their investment advisors ran a Ponzi scheme, defrauding investors of billions of dollars. That caused the company to totally liquidate and close its doors.
To the Cosgroves, they weren’t really affected much, as it seemed that whosoever was attacking them still left them with something to hold on to. But still, they dominated the headlines, as it came as a shock that Mason Cosgrove and his wife were getting divorced. The court, of course, awarded her half of his property, and after that, she just seemed to vanish into thin air. No one could find her again, though many assumed that she had probably gone to live a new life in a different country. This was a plausible reason due to all that had been happening and the fact that no missing report was filed concerning her.
For Amelia, everything seemed to go well. She had ensured Ray stayed with Grandfather Cosgrove, to be under his tutelage as the next heir. Everything was perfect , from her job to her love life with Kai, everything seemed to fall into place.
Everything, except for one persistent thorn: Lilac.
Despite blocking her, Lilac somehow found new numbers to call and text daily, sending flowers , always roses and lilies, to Liavenne every morning.
At first, Amelia had planned to ignore her entirely, but Lilac’s persistence had turned from mild annoyance into full-blown harassment.
And today was no different.
Sitting at her desk at Liavenne, Amelia’s phone vibrated for the nth time.
She didn’t even need to check the screen.
It was her again.
