Chapter 17
Amelia slumped on the queen-sized bed with a sigh. After leaving the Cosgrove house, she had booked a hotel to stay in for the time being while she looked for an apartment to rent.
However, she had a problem. Since the city the Cosgroves lived in was made up mostly of elites, everything was just too freaking expensive.
She had gotten the cheapest hotel there was, and it still cost $1,500 per night.
Well, she wouldn't have batted an eye at the price if not for the fact that she only had $20,000 to spare.
She had set the $20,000 aside for immediate expenses, while the $200,000 Mason had sent her remained untouched in another account, meant strictly for rent and survival while she adjusted.
That meant she could only afford twelve days in this hotel, with $2,000 left for food and other necessities.
Not ideal.
But rent wasn't the only issue.
She needed a job.
However, the degree the original Amelia had gotten wasn't the most convenient.
To escape spending four years in college, the original Amelia had gone to a top fashion school instead and spent only two years there. While Mason Cosgrove had been quite displeased with it, he didn't make a big fuss about it since she wasn't the heir anyway, so he really didn't care what she did with her life.
