Light’s mana flickered faintly, while Dark’s shadows quivered, both goddesses staring as if seeing a miracle or a famous monster from legend, this amused him. Leo tilted his head, a grin tugging at his lips despite the blood and grime streaking his face.
’’What’s wrong, ladies?’’ he rasped, his voice steady but laced with a dangerous edge. ’’Never seen a man eat a god?’’
Dark beamed and rushed toward him, the goddess wrapped her arms around his shoulders before peppering his face with kisses. He felt a shiver run down his spine as she finally spoke. ’’That was amazing, handsome! The Evil God didn’t stand a chance against your power.’’
Leo was just about to speak, but Light appeared there with narrowed golden eyes. ’’There’s two more of them; no doubt they will want to fight you now.’’
When he heard this, his eyebrow rose, causing him to question. ’’Well, they better because I want to end this fight with them so I can finally relax.’’
Light tilted her head, her face etched with a curious expression that he couldn’t quite decipher. Before Dark could say anything, her sister raised a hand to stop her. ’’Hold on—I’d like to speak with him alone.’’
Dark’s brows shot up in surprise, but she gave a curt nod. ’’Fine. I’ll scout the area, see if any more scum is lurking nearby.’’
With this, she turned and slipped into the shadows, leaving them in a charged silence. The golden-haired woman looked into his eyes before asking. ’’Will you let me worshippers live peaceful lives?’’
’’Yes,’’ he instantly answered. ’’As long as they don’t plot against me or my women, then I don’t have an issue.’’
Light was surprised by his response but nodded with a small smile. She shook her head and asked another question. ’’Will you still allow the Demon to sacrifice people to their god?’’
’’That’s me, you know,’’ he shot back with a sly smirk. ’’My people know I value loyalty above all else; it’s what they give me. Beyond that, I couldn’t care less what anyone’s up to.’’
